HGTV icon Joanna Gaines is being turned into a Barbie doll! Friends and family of the “Fixer Upper” star threw her a surprise party to celebrate the launch, and it was nothing short of a dream.
“Such a fun day at the office,” Joanna, 47, shared via her Instagram Story on Wednesday, October 22. “Our Magnolia team surprised me at HQ to celebrate Barbie.”
Joanna Gaines’ Barbie Party Was a Dream
Jo rolled into her festivities on a pair of retro roller skates, similar to the ones her doll wears. She wore a pink plaid button-up shirt, loose-fitted jeans, and a pair of heart-shaped sunglasses. Her hair was pulled up into a high bun as husband Chip Gaines spun her around the office.
A pink balloon arch welcomed guests, including employees and Jo’s parents, Jerry and Nan Stevens. All of the partygoers rocked pink Barbie-inspired looks.
“My parents celebrating my Barbie to the office today,” Joanna wrote over a photo of Jerry and Nan throwing up peace signs in their pink outfits.
Chip, 50, surprised his wife with a Barbie cake, complete with her Mattel doll on top.
Fans Can Own Their Own Joanna Gaines Barbie
Fans of the Magnolia owner can get their hands on their own Joanna Gaines Barbie doll and townhouse this weekend at their Silobration event in Waco, Texas. Shoppers who are not able to make it out to Silobration can pre-order their doll now from Target, or pick it up when it hits the toy aisle on December 7.
“This happened a couple of years ago during a meeting when someone around the table mentioned Barbie® and their interest in a collaboration. I was so excited, it was an easy ‘yes’ for me, and I may have even texted both of my daughters right then—my sisters too—who remember as well as I do just how many hours we spent playing with Barbie® as little girls,” Joanna revealed in a September blog post.
She continued, “So, we all got to work designing a 1970s townhouse. The first thing we did was track down as many dollhouses we could that Barbie® had distributed in the late 70s. We borrowed elements I remembered from my own, like the mid-century breezeblock on the exterior and the pink-and-white color scheme, and we added a few details that define me today, like my love of cozy spaces and baking at the kitchen island.”
