In a post that quickly went viral, Sophie wrote:

“It’s been so hard watching him go through this alone. He’s trying his best every single day — not just for himself, but for his little one. I’m so proud of him, but I wish things didn’t have to be this difficult.”

Though she didn’t go into full detail, fans instantly understood the gravity of her words. It’s believed Sophie was referring to Pete’s heartbreaking journey as he now faces life as a single dad to his young daughter, Eva.

Pete, 29, has been one of Gogglebox’s most loved personalities since joining the show in 2015 alongside Sophie. Known for his down-to-earth humour and genuine warmth, fans have followed his journey from being a cheeky bachelor to a doting father of two.

But according to Sophie’s emotional message, the Gogglebox favourite has faced unimaginable challenges behind closed doors.

“He never complains, never asks for help — but I can see it in his eyes when he’s tired. He misses the noise of a full house. He misses having someone to share the little moments with. But he keeps smiling for his kids, and that’s what breaks me the most.”

Her words have sparked an outpouring of love from fans, many calling Pete a “hero dad” and praising Sophie for her honesty.

A source close to the family revealed that Pete has been focused entirely on his children — Jimmy and Eva — and has stepped back from public life to prioritise fatherhood.
