Robert and his professional dance partner Witney Carson will be performing a Contemporary dance routine to “You’ll Be In My Heart” by Phil Collins. It will be an incredibly emotional time for the family because it is a moment that will honor Terri and her strength, as she raised two children alone after the tragic and unexpected death of her husband, Steve Irwin. Steve passed away on September 4, 2006.

Bindi Irwin Reacts to Robert Irwin’s Dance

Bindi Irwin has reacted to her brother’s performance, having already seen the dance, which has made her incredibly proud. She posted a throwback photo of her family on Instagram, and in the caption, she shared her thoughts. “Ready for a beautiful and emotional night @dancingwiththestars. Robert and Witney have the most profound contemporary dance, dedicated to Mum. Get your tissues ready. So proud of my family,” she wrote.

Fans flooded the comment section with messages of love and support for the family. “Bindi’s was dedicated to dad. And Robert’s to mom. Full circle moment. All the family together. I love this!!” a fan wrote of Bindi’s performance on DWTS Dedication Night during Season 21. She competed on the show with professional dancer Derek Hough and won the Mirrorball Trophy.

“Sobbed during your dedication week dance with derek 10 years ago… can’t wait to sob during robert’s,” another fan wrote.

Robert Irwin Celebrates His Mom

Ahead of Show Day on Tuesday, October 14, Robert posted a photo on Instagram showing himself and Carson in rehearsals. He used the post as an opportunity to celebrate his mother and share what the dance meant to him.

“It has been an emotional week in rehearsals. I’ve been thinking a lot about my mum and her strength, I’ve been reminiscing on the times we’ve spent as a family and how she has kept my dad part of my life,” he wrote in the caption. “This dance is for my mum, it’s for anyone who’s lost someone… and it’s for all the strong mothers of the world who deserve our recognition and appreciation.”
