Major Operation Ends With No Arrests in Nancy Guthrie Case: UPDATE

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos provided an update after an overnight operation was conducted in Tucson, just two miles from Nancy Guthrieâs home. Specifically, there was a report that three people were detained; however, it has not lead to any arrests.
Nanos told Fox Newsâ Matt Finn that no one was arrested and no one remains in custody following the operation.
As of Sunday morning, a spokesperson for the Pima County Sheriffâs Department told CNN that there are no news conferences currently planned, as they only plan to hold one if there are significant developments.
Photo Obtained Of Police Detaining Man In Handcuffs
After authorities detained three people in connection with Nancy Guthrieâs disappearance, FOX News obtained a photo of a man handcuffed. Sources told the outlet that police pulled the man over during a traffic stop roughly two miles from Nancyâs home.
âItâs unclear if the stop was connected to a search warrant executed at a house nearby,â TMZ added.
According to CNN, the police questioned one man, but ultimately let him go, âbelieving him not to be the kidnapper.â They added that âthe man was cooperative.â
CNN Chief Law Enforcement and Intelligence Analyst John Miller also detailed that itâs possible to âsee a couple more of these as this goes onâ due to the nature of the investigation, as Nancy has been missing for two weeks now with no updates about whether she is alive.
âI think we saw that again last night, but this particular lead is not going to go any further,â he said.
A Former FBI agent spoke with FOX News and explained how someone in handcuffs does not ultimately mean an arrest has been made.
âIf you ever see people in handcuffs at a search that doesnât mean that theyâre under arrest and in custody,â Nicole Parker told the outlet. âWe put everyone in handcuffs typically when weâre clearing out at home and weâre trying to maintain control of a scene.â
DNA Not Belonging To Nancy Guthrie Found In Her Tucson Home
In a press update on Friday, Feb. 13, the Pima County Sheriffâs Department revealed that there was DNA other than Nancyâs found inside her Tucson home.
âDNA other than Nancy Guthrieâs and those in close contact to her has been collected from the property,â the statement said, per CNN. âInvestigators are working to identify who it belongs to. We are not disclosing where that DNA was located.â
