Christine Lampard, who has been happily married to football legend Frank Lampard since 2015, has opened up about the cautious approach she took when it came to meeting Frankās daughters from his previous relationship.
In a heartfelt conversation on theĀ Loose Women: Just Between UsĀ podcast, the 46-year-old TV star shared that she chose not to meet Frankās daughters, Luna and Isla, for a full year after they started dating. Frankās daughters were just two and four years old when Christine entered their lives, and she was determined not to cause any emotional turmoil in case their relationship didnāt work out.
āI was probably more aware of it than Frank was,ā Christine admitted. āI didnāt want to come into their lives and then risk upsetting them if things didnāt last. I didnāt want to be just another āfriendā theyād have to say goodbye to.ā
The coupleās careful approach meant they spent a year getting to know each other before Christine finally met the girls. The TV star explained how she didnāt want to upset anyone, especially not Frankās children. āI was really cautious, and I wanted to make sure Frank and I were in it for the long haul before I took that step,ā she said. āIt was important to me that everything felt right for them.ā
However, Christine admitted that she still wonders if that was the right decision. āI donāt know if it was the smartest thing to do,ā she confessed. āBut it felt right at the time for us as a family. We were trying to do the best for them.ā
Frankās daughters were introduced to Christine as āone of dadās friendsā before the real nature of their relationship became clear. āTheir feelings were always at the top of the list,ā she emphasized, showing just how much she was aware of the delicate situation.
Christineās story highlights the challenges that come with blended families and the emotional balance needed to make sure everyone feels safe and secure. And while it may have taken a year to meet the girls, Christineās love for them and her commitment to getting things right clearly paid off.
