No Funeral Planned for HGTVâs Frank Cozzolino: His Daughter Explains Why

Thousands of HGTV fans have shared their condolences with the family and colleagues of Frank Cozzolino, who appeared for more than two decades on Mike Holmesâ popular shows, including âHolmes on Homesâ and âHolmes Family Rescue,â before his death at age 56 on December 4, 2025.
Cozzolinoâs family and close friends are treasuring the memories from all who knew or knew of him rather than holding a funeral, according to the electricianâs daughter, Filomena Cozzolino.
In a social media post on December 6, she explained, âFor all of those whoâd like to pay their respects, he did not wish to have a funeral. Rather, he wanted people to focus on the great times they shared with him.â
Filomena continued, âHis life, and the lives of his loved ones, was enhanced by organ donation; we can take a moment to honour him by donating to organ transplant research, cancer research, or signing up for organ donation. This way, we may continue to bring others a second, or third, chance at life.â
HGTVâs Frank Cozzolino Underwent 2 Liver Transplants
Cozzolino, a Canadian contractor who ran his own business in Toronto, Solutions Electrical & Maintenance, also became close friends with Holmes when he began appearing on his shows, beginning with the very first episode of âHolmes on Homes.â
Cozzolino underwent a liver transplant in August 2017, which he wrote in an Instagram post felt like a âsecond chance at life.â His liver disease was an occasional topic on Holmesâ shows, including an episode in which his team helped to renovate Cozzolinoâs home in 2022, according to Deadline.
In her December 6 post, Filomena explained that his doctors had discovered his liver disease returned in early 2025 and that he became the âgrateful recipient of a second transplant in July 2025.â
She went on to say that âthere were many post-operation complications, and he conquered each new battle, until he was diagnosed with lymphoma. Ever the fighter, he never gave up. He deliberated and decided that he would push through; heâd beaten the odds up to this point, he thought âthe world isnât getting rid of me this easily.ââ
âAlthough he lost his battle in the late evening of December 4, 2025,â she continued, âmy dad pushed the boundaries of what many of his medical team, friends, and family thought possible.â
