While some HGTV stars are renovating houses, Daphne Reckert and Ian Figueira have their hands full renovating their very own castle.
Castle Impossible premiered its debut season in April 2025. The series follows the married couple as they transform a castle that Reckert inherited from her grandparents, with the hopes of keeping it running and profitable as a wedding venue and event space.
Season 1 — which garnered 14.1 million viewers across linear and streaming — concluded in June 2025, leaving fans wanting more. HGTV made their wishes come true that December by confirming that the home renovation series will return for new episodes in 2026.

Will Castle Impossible return for Season 2?
On December 16, HGTV confirmed that Season 2 of Castle Impossible is in the works. “After a year of tireless work on the sprawling property, this season the Figs will focus on the revival and sustainability of their historic Chateau de Lesigny by expanding their wedding and event businesses to finance the much-needed renovations,” the season’s description reads. “In the eight new episodes, Daphne and Ian will work on pivotal rooms for their businesses including a honeymoon suite in the dove tower, a tea salon, a dungeon tavern and a library, in addition to restoring the chateau’s gatehouse as a residence for Daphne’s granny.”
When will Castle Impossible Season 2 premiere?
HGTV announced that Season 2 of Castle Impossible will premiere on Tuesday, May 26, at 9/8c. “Turns out, restoring a 500-year-old chateau was *not* a one‑season problem,” the network captioned an April 28 Instagram post.

Who is in the Castle Impossible cast?
The show stars Reckert and Figueira, who fell for each other as teenagers. The two broke up in 2009 after their high school romance and pursued different paths: She went to college, while he joined the U.S. Air Force.

However, when they were both home for the holidays in California in 2015, they reconnected. At the time, he was living in Arizona and she was finishing up school. They dated long-distance for a bit before he relocated to California in 2017 to complete his own studies.
It was one year later when Reckert got the call that her grandparents needed her help in France. Figueira studied abroad in Paris so he was able to join her as she cared for her ailing grandfather. The couple got engaged in March 2020, followed by a wedding that December. By August 2021, Figueira officially moved to France to be with his wife full-time.
Is there a trailer for Castle Impossible Season 2?
HGTV unveiled its first look at the show’s second season a few days before its May 26 premiere. “Once upon a time, an American couple journeyed to the far, far away land of France on a magical adventure,” a narrator says in the Season 2 sneak peek. “Their quest is to rescue this ancient castle from ruin.”
Reckert notes that keeping the chateau “alive for future generations” is her and Figueira’s goal. However, the couple will run into several renovation challenges while trying to achieve it, such as leaky ceilings, flickering lights, rotting foundation, and fungus.
“Should I be worried?” Reckert asks Figueira over walkie talkie. He reluctantly replies, “Maybe.”
The challenges also come with plenty of positive moments, as the trailer teases first looks at newly-renovated spaces such as a tea room, a tavern, and a library. “Will the fairy tale turn into a horror story?” the narrator asks at the end of the preview. “Or will they live happily ever after?”
What will happen in Castle Impossible Season 2?
The eight-episode season will follow the couple as they continue their work on the 500-year-old chateau, all while expanding their wedding and event businesses. “Daphne and Ian will work on pivotal rooms for their businesses including a honeymoon suite in the dove tower, a tea salon, a dungeon tavern and a library, in addition to restoring the chateau’s gatehouse as a residence for Daphne’s granny,” the season’s official description states. “Throughout the season, the chateau will welcome many special guests including, Daphne’s father, sister and grandmother, as well as Dick and Angel Strawbridge (Escape to the Chateau).”
The description continues, “Along the way, Daphne and Ian will be met with some of their biggest surprises yet including detrimental water leaks, strict budgets, crumbling infrastructure and mold and fungus infestations.”
Where is the castle from Castle Impossible?
The castle is located in Lésigny, France, which is about 12 miles outside of Paris. It sits on 130 acres of land and is 500 years old.
