Dancing with the Stars Dedication Night: See the List of Songs and Dances (and Who They’re For!)

The Dancing with the Stars pros and competitors will step into the ballroom with special people.

Week 5 of the reality competition series is Dedication Night, and for the first time in the show’s history, the celebrity contestants will be joined by their family and friends on the dance floor.

There are 10 couples left vying for the Mirrorball Trophy, and each competitor will get a little more personal as they open up about their loved ones.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Jen Affleck and her partner, Jan Ravnik, will perform a Viennese Waltz to “Rescue” by Lauren Daigle, dedicated to Affleck’s mom, Maria.

In a video posted to the Dancing with the Stars Instagram, Affleck took some time out of rehearsal to talk about her song choice and why it’s meaningful to her.

“This week, I’m dedicating this dance to my mom and my kids. As you can tell, I’ve already started to cry, a ton just because this dance is so special to me,” she said in the clip.

“My mom is everything to me. She means the world. I didn’t realize how much she did for me growing up until I became a mom myself,” Affleck continued. “I want this song to be dedicated to her and all the moms out there. If you’re a mom watching this, you’re seen, you’re loved, and you’re appreciated.”

Olympic gold medalist Jordan Chiles and her partner Ezra Sosa

 will perform a Viennese Waltz to “Daughters” by John Mayer. Chiles is dedicating her dance to her father, Timothy Chiles.

“I’m dedicating my Viennese Waltz to my father, [who] I honestly admire so much. I wouldn’t change the world, anything about him. He’s such an amazing person … and he’s been with me through thick and thin,” Chiles said in an Instagram video.

“I love you, Daddy, and I’m so excited to get on the ballroom floor with you because we’re about to crush this,” she continued. “And I hope everybody understands the message and that no matter what, you guys are all in this together, and your connections matter.”

Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy

TikTok and social media celebrity Alix Earle and her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, will dance a contemporary to “Sparks” by Coldplay. The dance will be dedicated to Earle’s younger sister, Izabel.

In an Instagram video posted on Oct. 13, Earle explained that she wanted to devote the performance to her sibling because she remembered what it was like when she was 12, and how Izabel’s birth brought her family closer.

“I wanted to dedicate the dance to her because when I was her age, she’s 12 now, it was a really hard time for me in my life. My parents had split up, and I was just emotional, angsty, all the things,” she said. “And when Izabel was born … Suddenly that became more important than the other emotions I was feeling and dealing with.”

Earle added, “So it really helped me mature, and really helped bring my family back together. So we always say it was the second chance at our family.”

Producer and reality TV star Dylan Efron and his partner, Daniella Karagach, will perform a contemporary routine to “Rewrite the Stars” by Zac Efron & Zendaya. Efron is dedicating his dance to his little sister, Olivia.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Efron said that when he first asked Olivia if she wanted to be part of the dance, she declined, but after attending the week 1 taping, she had a change of heart.

“That’s what’s so special. I see her in the audience, and it gives me confidence to be that big brother,” he continued. “I think she’s way more talented than me so to see her at this age already say ‘Yeah, I can do that.’ It’s everything.”

Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov

Boy Meets World star Danielle Fishel and her partner, Pasha Pashkov, will be performing a jive to “Boy Meets World” by Twenty Cent Crush featuring Phil Rosenthal.

Fishel dedicates the dance to her former Boy Meets World costar William Daniels, a.k.a. Mr. Feeny.

Daniels, who is 98, will join her and Pashkov on the dance floor, as Fishel revealed on the Oct. 8 episode of her podcast,

Danielle with the Stars.

“Saying it out loud feels crazy, but yes, we get to dance to the Boy Meets World theme song, the one you all know and love,” she said. “And Bill Daniels is going to be on the ballroom floor with us, and I’m so excited.

“It’s really a dedication to Bill and the role he has played in my life and the role Boy Meets World has played in my life,” Fishel added.

Actress Elaine Hendrix and her partner, Alan Bersten, will perform a foxtrot to “This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)” by Natalie Cole. Hendrix is dedicating the routine to her friend and

Parent Trap costar Lisa Ann Walter.

“They said Dedication Week was coming. I said, ‘Well, I need to have Lisa Ann Walter there with me,’ ” Hendrix told PEOPLE.

The actress also previously said Walter was her “life security blanket,” adding, “I look at her and I instantly feel calm.”

Scott Hoying and Rylee Arnold

Pentatonix’s Scott Hoying and his partner, Rylee Arnold, are set to perform a foxtrot to his own song, “Parallel.” The routine is dedicated to Hoying’s husband, Mark Hoying.

“I want to dedicate it to my husband Mark, because I feel like he’s just changed my life in so many ways,” Hoying told Extra TV. “I’m so in love and we just celebrated our two-year wedding anniversary. I’ve written so many songs about him and so I really just wanted to dance to a song and have him there.”

Robert Irwin and Witney Carson

Wildlife conservationist and his partner, Witney Carson, will dance a contemporary to “You’ll Be In My Heart” by Phil Collins. The performance is dedicated to Irwin’s mother, Terri Irwin.

In an Oct. 12 TikTok video, Irwin spoke about rehearsing for Dedication Night and how emotional it’s been for him.

“I’ve been thinking a lot about my dad, I’ve been thinking a lot about the highs and the lows, the grief, the way my mom has helped me navigate that,” he confessed in the clip. “This dance has just been this culmination of so much emotion, and I just want this to be a point of vulnerability.”

“I want this to be a dance not only for my mom, but for all of the moms out there that don’t get the recognition that they deserve. I want this to be a dance for anyone who’s lost someone,” Irwin continued. “I’m excited for you to see this. I hope this dance can help people because it’s certainly helped me.”

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Whitney Leavitt and her partner, Mark Ballas, will perform a contemporary to “Heal” by Jamal Roberts, winner of American Idol season 23.

Leavitt will be dedicating the number to her husband, Connor.

“I’m so excited. He’s been stretching. He tells us multiple times that he is so excited to get on the dance floor. So I cannot wait,” Leavitt told The National News Desk.

Comedian Andy Richter and his partner Emma Slater will perform a salsa to “Jump In the Line” by Harry Belafonte.

Richter is dedicating the dance to his daughter, Cornelia, whom he shares with his wife, Jennifer Herrera Richter.

“The song makes me feel joy, this competition makes me feel joy, and she makes me feel,” he said in an Instagram video about Dedication Night. “So it was a natural thing to push them all together.”
