Nancy Guthrie Disappearance: Neighbors âTerrifiedâ After FBI Mixup

As the search for Nancy Guthrie continues, one neighbor detailed an FBI blunder that left her family âterrified.â
According to a woman named Aldine, the FBI was scanning Guthrieâs Tucson, Arizona, neighborhood in the days following her disappearance. However, upon investigation, one neighbor was told the âFBI agentsâ were actually impostors.
The FBI Scanned Nancy Guthrieâs Neighborhood
Aldine, who went to high school with Nancy Guthrieâs son Camron Guthrie, sat down with News Nationâs Brian Entin for an interview on Monday, March 9.
During their chat, the woman explained that her sister, who lives in the same neighborhood, reported that two FBI agents, a male and a female, wearing black hoodies, âwere tapping on her windows and frantically ringing her doorbell.â
According to Aldine, the incident occurred âon the second Friday night after Nancy went missingâ around 7:30 p.m.
âThey wanted to know if she had a pacemaker, and they wanted to look into her garage,â Aldine recalled of her sisterâs situation. âShe was alone. And was like, âSure, of course. Youâre the FBI.’â
After informing her daughter that the male agent âkind of creeped her out,â concern grew that the two individuals may have been posing as FBI agents.
âShe called 911, and within 15 minutes, 10 minutes, there were seven police cars. Four FBI agents said it wasnât the FBI. She was terrified,â Aldine continued. âThey swabbed her, fingerprinted the entire house. So they swabbed her mouth. They swabbed her mouth for DNA.â
The following day, however, Aldineâs sister received a phone call from the FBI saying, âOh yeah, by the way, that woman was an FBI agent. We donât really know who the guy was, but she was, so youâre fine.â
Aldineâs report seems to corroborate an earlier report that the Pima County Sheriffâs Department and the FBI were having trouble working together on the case.
âOur strong partnership is critical, and we remain fully committed to this collaborative investigation,â PCSD said in a statement following reports that they were blocking key evidence, per News Nation.
