Jack Schlossberg, the younger brother of John F. Kennedy’s late granddaughter Tatiana Schlossberg, spoke out in a “CBS Sunday Morning” interview on March 1 and revealed the final thing the beloved journalist told him.

Schlossberg died on December 30, 2025 of a rare, highly aggressive blood cancer. She left behind her husband George Moran and their two children, along with the rest of her heartbroken family members.

Jack, who is running for office in New York, said the last thing the 35-year-old told him was supportive of his dreams. “You better win,” he recalled her telling him. He added, “No one knew me better, and I knew no one better than her.” He previously paid tribute shortly after her death by sharing one of her quotes about making the world “better.”

Jack Schlossberg Described How His Family Gives Him Strength

Jack fondly remembered his sister and said, “I love my family so much, and they are the ultimate source of strength for me. Tatiana and her family – I love them so much and they put a smile on my face. Whenever I have a tough day, I think about her, her kids, her husband. How much I love them. And it makes everything a lot easier”

Jack then opened up about what things were like for his immediate family immediately following Tatiana’s heartbreaking May 2024 diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia. He recalled, “It’s a wound that will never heal. And that whole period of time, to see someone you love suffering and not be able to do anything about it, I think a lot of people can relate to how awful that is. The feeling of you would do anything to take away someone’s pain, but you can’t. So what do you do? That was really, really hard.”

Jack went on to say the memory of his sister gives him “the strength to keep doing what I’m doing, and to fight the battles I believe in fighting.” He added, “That’s exactly what Tatiana did. Whenever I think about complaining about something, I think about what Tatiana went through, and the strength and resilience that she showed. It just makes me wanna be a better person.”

Jack also revealed Tatiana shared her viral essay published that appeared in The New Yorker, “A Battle With My Blood,” with him before it’s release. “I told her that the world needed to see it, and she wasn’t quite sure. She was exceedingly humble.” He added his sister “thought no one would read” the article that went on to become the most viewed story ever shared on The New Yorker’s website.”

He recalled more about the mom of two’s personality, saying, “Tatiana was a perfectionist. A genius. She had an insane brain. ‘Amazing horsepower up there’ is what I used to say about her.” Jack called his sister “an incredible writer” before saying he believes her story broke through because of “the picture she painted, but also the fact that she laid bare the truth.”
