HGTV fans were left rejoicing as a beloved cast member made a surprise return to Fixer to Fabulous three years after he retired.
Carpenter Joe Looney, who stepped down from his role on the construction team in 2023, surprised the show’s co-host Jenny Marrs in the latest episode of the renovation series.
In scenes that aired January 27, Looney arrived unannounced to see his longtime friend and collaborator Marrs, much to her delight.
Upon seen Looney, Marrs, 47, screamed with excitement before running over to welcome him with a huge hug.
‘Joe is a longtime member of our construction crew who retired a few years ago,’ she gushed in the voiceover.
‘And I just miss seeing him every day, so it’s such a treat to have him here.’
No sooner than Looney arrived, Marrs suggested that they should take a break for lunch.
‘It’s a good time to take a break,’ she said as she wrapped her arm around his shoulder.

‘Love Joe and miss seeing him on the show!’ one said.
‘Aww Joe!’ another wrote. ‘Great to see him again, definitely miss him.’
‘I love Joe,’ a third continued. ‘I cried when he retired. I love how you would always take Joe away for little breaks, sometimes sat on the back of the truck eating cookie.’
‘My all-time favorite from all the shows!’ a fourth added. ‘Just something about Joe. I think his head shake is just the best!’

Looney announced in December 2023 that he would not be returning to Fixer to Fabulous for season six.
At the time, Marrs announced news of his retirement in a post shared to Instagram.

‘It was also a night to celebrate our beloved Joe Looney,’ she captioned an upload which marked the end of season wrap party.
‘I can’t imagine doing this without him by our side but I’m grateful for the many years (so many pre-TV) with this amazing human.
‘He deserves a little rest and we all sent him off to retirement with a whole lot of love (and requests to just pop by anytime he’d like).’
Marrs co-hosts Fixer to Fabulous with her husband Dave.
