“I’m Not Discussing This Anymore.” 🚫 Heather Rae El Moussa shuts down questions about a personal issue

Months after Heather Rae El Moussa revealed that she and her husband, fellow HGTV star Tarek El Moussa, disagree about whether to expand their family, the former “Selling Sunset” star says she’s done discussing the topic in public.

In an interview with Us Weekly posted on November 1, 2025, Heather said, “I kind of, like, have decided to not talk about this anymore because I want to respect Tarek.”

Heather Rae El Moussa Says She ‘Would Have 10 More’ Children If She Could

Heather, 38, and Tarek, 44, just celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary and are parents to two-year-old son Tristan. Heather is also a stepmom to Tarek’s children with his first wife, fellow HGTV star Christina Haack — 15-year-old daughter Taylor and 10-year-old son Brayden.

Although Heather has shared in multiple interviews that she wants more children but Tarek doesn’t, she told Us Weekly she’s had a change of heart about discussing the subject publicly.

“It’s not fair for me to always go out and be like, ‘This is my opinion,’ and then not give him a safe space to talk, too,” she said. “So, I kind of feel like that’s where I’m at.”

Heather continued, “I think if it’s meant to be, it will happen eventually when we’re in the right place. But, I must say, like, being a mom makes me the happiest ever. So, I would have 10 more, to be honest, but we have a lot going on. We have two other children that are priorities (in addition to Tristan). So, we’ll see. Never say no.”

In March, Heather revealed on the “Scrubbing In with Becca Tilley & Tanya Rad” podcast that she was longing to have another baby, but that Tarek was not on board.

“(Tristan) is the light of my life,” she said at the time. “It makes me so happy. I’m like, ‘How could I not want more?’ But my husband is very much done. So we’re very different in what we want in our future. So that’s hard.”

When Page Six asked Tarek for his take in April, he replied, “I’m turning 44 this year. I’m starting to get older. And I’m very busy with work. I love my kids so much. It’s literally my favorite thing about life. But it takes a lot of time, effort, energy.”

Tarek continued, “And what’s important to me is making sure that not only can I be an entrepreneur, a TV personality, but even more important, I want to be a good dad. And I sometimes worry if I spread myself even more thin, it’s going to take away from me being the best dad I can be.”

Heather and Tarek have since begun attending couple’s therapy which, she told Us Weekly, “brought us closer together (because) we were able to talk about some hard things that maybe we couldn’t at home. So when we’re in our therapy, we feel a little bit safer to be like, ‘Hey, this is how I feel.’”

Heather, Tarek, and Christina have begun filming a second season of HGTV’s “The Flip Off,” expected to premiere in 2026.
