Pop superstar Jessie J, 38, has shared an emotional update with fans, revealing she is officially cancer-free nearly a year after her breast cancer diagnosis. The singer, who underwent a mastectomy after early detection, admitted she sobbed for hours when she received the life-changing results.
In a candid Instagram video from her hospital check-up, Jessie explained the anxiety she felt while preparing for her MRI scan.
“So I’m back for my yearly check-up, I’m actually s*****g myself, I’m not gonna lie… RESULTS ARE IN AND I AM CANCER FREE!! I sobbed for hours and then exhaled for the first time in a year,” she shared.
Jessie previously revealed that her journey had been far from easy. After her mastectomy in June, she was left frustrated when her second surgery was postponed, forcing her to cancel tour dates.
“Cancer sucks, man, but thank f*** I found it early,” she reflected.
The star opened up about the emotional toll on her family life, particularly the impact on her toddler son, Sky.
“I feel like cancer has robbed me of memories with my boy… Some days are awful. I had moments where I thought ‘this is going to go left and I’m going to die.’”
Despite the hardships, Jessie has embraced resilience, sharing how her struggles have shaped her outlook:
“I weirdly kind of enjoy bad things happening to me sometimes, as it means I need to grow. I believe bad things happen to me so I can help other people who will then go through it.”
