A Love Story That Fans Adore
Emmerdale favourite Lisa Riley has delighted fans with a touching relationship update, celebrating over a decade of love with her fiancé, Al. The beloved actress, who has played Mandy Dingle since 1995, shared the sweet moment on Instagram, prompting an outpouring of affection from her followers.
Lisa, 48, posted a radiant photo of herself and Al enjoying a romantic day out at Wentworth Woodhouse, followed by a walk at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. The couple beamed in the autumn sunshine, looking relaxed and deeply content.
“Could not have asked for a more beautiful day embracing Autumn at its best,” Lisa wrote. “Spent the morning visiting @wentworth_woodhouse, which is truly breathtaking — the grounds are just beautiful. Then the whole afternoon walking for miles at the incredible @yspsculpture. I cannot recommend both these places more — we’ve walked!”
The post quickly filled with comments from fans praising the couple’s happiness. One follower wrote, “Beautiful pictures — you both look so happy!” while another added, “Lovely photo of a lovely couple!”

Eleven Years of Love and Laughter
Lisa and Al’s love story began back in 2014 when they met at a Strictly Come Dancing tour event. Four years later, they got engaged — but despite more than a decade together, the pair are in no rush to walk down the aisle.
In previous interviews, Lisa has been refreshingly honest about her decision not to marry. “If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it,” she said. “We’re very happy as we are. I love wearing the beautiful ring Al gave me, but I’ve never been the kind of girl who longs for a big, flouncy day with a horse and carriage.”
With her trademark humour, she added: “That kind of thing gives me the ick, to be honest. I’m never going to change my name, so really, what would be the difference? We call each other husband and wife and have been together for years — that’s enough for us.”

A Private but Powerful Partnership
While Lisa’s on-screen alter ego Mandy Dingle is known for her fiery personality and tumultuous relationships, the actress’s real-life romance couldn’t be more different. She often describes Al as her rock — a steady presence amid the chaos of filming and public life.
Their decision to stay out of the limelight has made their bond even stronger, with fans admiring their grounded, genuine partnership.
As one fan wrote on social media: “You two are proof that love doesn’t need a wedding to be real. Eleven years and still smiling — that’s true goals.”
