New images have been recovered from security cameras at the Arizona home of missing mother Nancy Guthrie, according to insiders.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) recently recovered thumbnail images from motion-activated cameras positioned around the Tucson-area property where Guthrie was abducted nearly seven weeks ago, sources briefed on the investigation told ABC News.

But the cameras, which were aimed at the swimming pool, backyard and side yard, were unable to provide full video footage.

Instead, investigators were able to retrieve reduced-size still images captured when the cameras were triggered by motion according to the source.

The images themselves revealed nothing suspicious except for what was missing.

Investigators were able to observe several people moving around the backyard and side yard at various times prior to the abduction.

Additional images also captured law enforcement officers near the pool after Guthrie had already been taken.

But the cameras recorded nothing at all on the night she disappeared, a gap that investigators have described as ‘odd.’

The discovery has raised questions about whether the cameras malfunctioned, were tampered with, or if the suspect managed to avoid triggering them entirely.

Nancy was abducted from her home in the early hours of February 1, nearly seven weeks ago.

Police believe she was taken from her bedroom inside the property, where she had lived since the 1970s.

The bedroom itself was seen in resurfaced footage from a 2013 segment on NBC’s Today, in which Nancy gave her show host daughter Savannah Guthrie a tutorial on how to make the perfect bed.

Officials have not determined why the motion-activated cameras failed to capture any activity during the time investigators believe the abduction occurred.

Earlier in the investigation, the FBI released photos and video of a masked man seen outside Guthrie’s front door on the morning of her disappearance.

The individual appeared to be armed and was seen tampering with a security camera mounted near the entrance.

Sources familiar with the investigation told ABC News the same man may have been outside the home on previous occasions before February 1.

Pima County Sheriff officials have said they believe Nancy was deliberately targeted, though investigators have not identified a motive and no suspect has been named.

The case has drawn national attention due to its connection to Savannah.

She has offered a $1 million reward for information leading to her mother’s safe return.

Combined with law enforcement funds, the total reward now stands at $1.2 million.

Authorities have urged anyone with information about Nancy’s disappearance to come forward as the investigation continues.
