‘Not a Surrender’: Real Reason Behind King’s Meeting With Harry and Meghan | Royal Family LIVE

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s reunion with King Charles was about meeting his grandchildren and not a surrender, reports claim. The King welcomed Meghan and Harry’s children to his Highgrove residence after days of speculation over whether the family meeting would take place. The meeting, which included Charles, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, is likely to be interpreted as a sign of thawing in the relationship between the King and Harry.

A royal source is reported to have told journalist, Rob Shuter, as quoted by Sky News Australia: “This wasn’t a surrender – it was a grandfather wanting to see his grandchildren. People are confusing compassion with capitulation.” The source added that if Buckingham Palace had wanted the world to see the meeting as a reconciliation, then there would have been a photo of the occasion. They added: “The fact that there wasn’t tells you everything you need to know. The institution didn’t blink. Charles acted as a father and a grandfather, not as the head of the monarchy negotiating terms.” Royal fans were urged not to “believe the hype” surrounding the royal reunion.

King Charles forced to issue warning to tourists visiting his home this summer

The King’s team at Balmoral Castle has been forced to issue a warning to members of the public planning on visiting the royal Scottish property this summer. Part of the historic 19th-century building is undergoing repairs, so scaffolding is obscuring one of its sides.

A banner on the official website reads: “The grounds, gardens, Mews Gift Shop, Restaurant and Ballroom Exhibition are open daily, 1000-1700. Please note, scaffolding for maintenance work is currently erected on the West side of the Castle.” The warning has been issued to future visitors to avoid any on-the-day disappointment, however, its facilities remain open as usual.
