Strictly Come Dancing star Vito Coppla has told fans he and Ellie Goldstein have had a “busy day” together amid rumours she has left the show.

Ellie, 23, has been at the centre of widespread whispers this week claiming she has quit Strictly Come Dancing.

But yesterday, she put on a defiant front with pro partner Vito, 33, for an appearance on ITV’s This Morning.

Once their TV interview had wrapped, the pair are believed to have headed straight back into the rehearsal studio ahead of this weekend’s Halloween Week shows.

Vito, who has been noticeably quiet on Instagram this week, has since given fans an update on their day together. Alongside a black and white selfie taken in a car, he said: “Busy day today but very productive!”

Ellie, meanwhile, has shared several snaps of herself with This Morning’s hosts, Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.

Strictly Come Dancing: Ellie Goldstein rumours

It is unclear where the rumours about Ellie leaving Strictly Come Dancing have come from. This is the second time in the series she has been hit with them, though.

Earlier this month, whispers began spreading after a fake news story appeared on social media claiming the model and actress had quit.

Since last weekend’s Icons Week show, Ellie and Vito have been keeping a noticeably lower profile online. The pair, who call themselves The Cheeky Team, usually post footage from the training room on social media.

Previous videos have shown them giggling together while sharing snacks and lunch during their breaks from dance practice. But this week, there has been none of that.

It comes after Ellie, who has Down syndrome, was forced to hit back at critics who have questioned her place in Strictly Come Dancing. Some fans have accused the judges of going easier on her compared to the other competitors.

As a result, Ellie has instead used her Instagram platform this week to share a message from a fan.

The message read: “I am so sick of the criticism around Ellie! I totally agree with the judges! Ellie has no fear or nerves on the dance floor!

“She gives it all and 1000000% deserves her place in the competition! Again someone learning dance and improving every week! Don’t blame Ellie because others are leaving!”

Ellie replied by thanking her supporter.

Ellie and Vito: Halloween Week

Ellie and Vito confirmed their Halloween Week dance on Tuesday’s episode of Strictly: It Takes Two. The pair are doing a Tango to Abracadabra by Lady Gaga.

The pair told host Fleur East that Vito will be dressed as a rabbit, while Ellie is a magician. “It’s going to be a spooky Tango but, at the same time, there’s going to be lots of interaction. There’s going to be lots of tricks,” Vito added.
