Gatwick Airport LIVE: No water at airport as major update issued to passengers
The airport is yet to address the issue as passengers rage.

Gatwick Airport has no running water as passengers are left unable to use toilets or buy drinks.
SES Water said this morning that customers in Surrey, West Sussex, and Kent are experiencing water shortages.
This has been caused by a water supply issue at its Bough Beech centre.
One passenger wrote on X: “Gatwick Airport has lost access to running water after days of disruption.
“We’re talking about the UK’s second busiest airport here… Our country is crumbling.”

London Gatwick airport issue statement
London Gatwick airport has released the following statement:
“We continue to work with SESWater and are closely monitoring the situation.
“We thank passengers for their patience and understanding and will provide further updates as soon as the water supply has been restored.”
No restaurants or bars open at airport
Passengers have taken to X to share images of the closed restaurants and bars at the airport.
One said: “Gatwick Airport. No water. No restaurants or bars able to be open. 1st world problems.”
Flights unaffected
Although flights are unaffected, but several services have been compromised at both of the Sussex airport’s terminals this afternoon, with passengers posting online that they are unable to get hot drinks, wash their hands or fill up water bottles.
SES Water said their “Bough Beech water treatment works are back up and running”.
SES Water to treat water before returning service
The Daily Express also has an update from SES Water. The company said their “Bough Beech water treatment works are back up and running”.
Here is the full update: “We are pleased to provide an update that our Bough Beech water treatment works are back up and running, we now need to treat the water before returning services to normal as quickly as we possibly can.
“We thank customers and our partners at Gatwick Airport for their patience.”

‘No water in either terminal’
“A local water supply issue is continuing to cause disruption. “There is currently no water supply in either terminal,” Gatwick Airport said.
Issues caused by a power outage
“Due to a number of complications caused by a power outage at our Bough Beech Water Treatment Works,” SES Water said.
Bars and restaurant closed
Passengers are also saying bars and restaurants at the airport are currently closed.
Passengers still facing disruption
Passengers at the airport are continuing to report no flushing toilets, running taps, or drinking fountains.

Airport to provide further updates
No further comments available from Gatwick Airport, which has been contacted by the Daily Express.
In a previous update they said: “We will provide further updates and apologise for any inconvenience to passengers.”
SES Water statement
A spokesperson for SES Water said: “Due to a number of complications caused by power outage at our Bough Beech Water Treatment Works, some customers are experiencing low water pressure or a temporary loss of supply.
“We are working to overcome those complications and return the treatment works to supply as quickly as we can.
“Gatwick Airport is being affected but we are working with them while our teams work to restore normal service as quickly as possible.
“We thank customers and our partners at Gatwick Airport for their patience.”
Affected areas
These are the postcodes affected, according to SES Water.
TN8, TN11 and parts of RH1.
Social media users, however, are also saying RH6 is also being affected. The postcode includes both terminals at Gatwick Airport.
Bottled water delivered to ‘the most vulnerable’
Another update from the company said: “We are now delivering bottled water to the most vulnerable customers on our Priority Services Register who need it most.
“Our teams are working hard to return water supplies to normal and we apologise to everyone affected. We’ll continue to keep you updated.”
‘Low water pressure and loss of supply’
An update on X from SES Water, which serves the area, read: “We have an issue at our Bough Beech Water Treatment Works with some customers experiencing either low water pressure or loss of supply. We apologise to everyone affected. We’re working hard to return water supplies to normal.”
