Some steps are just a movement, but for little Florrie, they are a miraculous journey of rebirth.
Not long ago, Florrie faced an incredibly grueling battle for survival, undergoing a life-saving lung transplant. The days of being confined to a hospital bed surrounded by machines are finally fading into the past, making way for a “little warrior” full of confidence and determination. Today, as part of her physical therapy, Florrie left us all in awe as she completed her longest walk yet: all the way around the block.

But this walk was about so much more than just physical recovery. Every brave step Florrie took carried a powerful mission: to cheer on Henry Moores, who is currently taking on the phenomenal challenge of running a marathon in all 50 U.S. states to raise funds for the Bemorefab Children’s Cancer Charity.
As Florrie walked, she wasn’t thinking about the pain she had endured. She was thinking about Henry, the endless miles he is covering, and all the other children still fighting their own battles. Florrie wanted to use her “new” lungs and her newfound strength to fuel the man who is giving everything for the community.
“Every step is a thank you. Every effort is a beacon of hope.”

Seeing Florrie walk confidently around her neighborhood is the most vivid testament to the power of medicine and the human spirit. She isn’t just learning to breathe again; she is teaching us how to love and give back, even while she is still healing herself.
Let’s give a huge round of applause for Florrie and Henry. Whether it’s a walk around the block or a run across a continent, their steps are making this world a warmer, better place.
