Jenna Johnson’s little one had a tough night last night.
The professional dancer and proud mom, 31, shared a video on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Oct. 7 and revealed that her 2-year-old son Rome had spent part of the night in the hospital. In the video, Johnson can be seen laying in a hospital bed, holding her son in her lap.
Rome had an oxygen mask over his mouth and lay underneath a blanket as the worried mom panned the camera to show how tucked in they were.
“Wanna preface this by saying everything’s fine now and thank goodness Rome is home sleeping,” Johnson wrote over the clip. “But this was our night last night .”

She also included a snap of herself, husband Val Chmerkovskiy and their toddler son cuddling together in a hospital bed.
“This guy right here. Our absolute rock through it all,” she said. “This calm during the storm. Not one time mentioning his exhaustion or lack of sleep going into a show day. Only making sure that our baby is taken care of and mama is staying sane lol.”
“Beyond grateful to do life with you,” she added, including a few emojis.
Johnson has previously shared that her toddler son had to spend another night in the hospital. Back in May 2024, she posted a photo from her bed as her family of three cuddled together.
Rome could be seen drinking from a blue sippy cup, snuggled in between his parents. “Rough night last night ,” Johnson wrote over the photo.
Another photo showed Rome sitting on Chmerkovskiy’s leg as the two were in an ambulance. A paramedic held an oxygen mask up to Rome’s mouth as Johnson snapped the photo, adding a broken heart emoji.
In a video added to Johnson’s Instagram Stories, Rome smiled and giggled as the paramedic talked with him, moving to place the oxygen mask on his face. “This would be our son,” Johnson wrote. “So insanely sick but flirting with the beautiful paramedic helping him.”
Later that night, the concerned mom posted an update after receiving messages of support from her followers.
“Thank you to everyone who reached out!!” Johnson wrote over a picture of Rome with one of his toys. “Rome is doing much better today He caught a bad case of croup.”
“Had some troubles getting enough oxygen during a coughing attack in the middle of the night. We were all pretty hysterical and scared. Thankfully doing much better today after seeing the doctors.”
