Jen Affleck dedicated her week to feeling better.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, who is competing on this season of Dancing With the Stars, showed up to dance for the Oct. 14 “Dedication Night” with pro partner

Zac Affleck‘s kids Nora, 3, Lucas, 2, and Penelope, 3 months.”This last year has been one of the hardest years of my life with prenatal and postpartum depression—if you’re a mom, you know,” Jen shared of the meaningful dance during the episode. “I didn’t realize how much my mom went through until I became a mother myself. So, this is for all the moms out there.”

The pair received a score of eight from judge Carrie Ann Inaba, seven from guest judge Kym Johnson, seven from judge Bruno Tonioli and seven from judge Derek Hough

“That was the most passionate dance you’ve performed yet,” Carrie Ann said of their performance. “I see where you get your courage from. There was just something profound.”

Jen gave it her all, and viewers would have never known that she had been struggling with illness all week. However, the day before she was set to perform, Zac posted to TikTok about her condition.

“This week she has been so sick,” Zac wrote on TikTok on Oct. 13. “She hasn’t been able to practice, and has been stuck in bed most of the week.”

He shared that she had been doing everything she could to rest up and get back into dancing shape.

“Call it chance or God, but her Mom has been in town this week to make her homemade meals and help take care of her,” Zac continued. “Jen would never ask but she really needs all the help and prayers she can get!”

And Jen wasn’t the only cast member who had been under the weather prior to the episode. Pro Emma Slater also revealed in a TikTok Oct. 13 that partner

Andy Richter had “been sick and in bed this week.”However, she shared that the comedian was “feeling a lot better” and was “determined to give it his all.”
