Tennis Fans STUNNED By Surprise PDA Just Hours After Major Final Loss

Revealed: Emma Raducanu’s new boyfriend is the privately educated son of a Queen’s Club committee member

Emma Raducanu‘s new boyfriend is the privately educated son of a Queen’s Club committee member, the Daily Mail can reveal.

The tennis star, 23, was spotted snuggling up to public relations executive John Friend, 32, in London‘s Battersea Park a day after losing the Queen’s final.

The pair held hands, hugged and appeared to kiss as they took his dog for a stroll in south west London, where he lives.

Emma broke up with her last boyfriend, billionaire Carlo Agostinelli in 2024, and she has since revealed her parents were ‘very much against’ her having boyfriends as they ‘interfered with training’.

John, nine years her senior, is listed as the director of JSGF, a public relations firm named after his initials.

He is also a trustee of cancer charity Team Antoinette, which seeks to fundraise to find a revolutionary cure for the illness.

His father, a top business chief who advises boards on strategic communications, reputation and brand management, is a committee member on the Queen’s Club Real tennis committee and on the Marylebone Cricket Club’s Tennis and Squash sub-committee.

John’s brother William, a media entrepreneur, married American actress Bevin Prince but tragically passed away aged 33 in 2022 after being struck by lightning in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina.

Emma missed out on a first ever grass-court title on Sunday after she was defeated in the final at Queen’s by Croatia’s Donna Vekic.

She won twice on Saturday to reach the final on the Andy Murray Arena and is scheduled to play at the Nottingham Open next week before Wimbledon starts at the end of the month.

Emma began dating Carlo in May 2023 and appeared arm in arm at Paris Fashion week months later.

The pair were also spotted enjoying a snack after shopping in Whole Foods on Kensington High Street a few weeks earlier.

Harrow-educated Carlo is Robert Agostinelli’s son, a London-based American private equity billionaire.

That romance ended the following year, with friends saying it had ‘run its course’.

She has also been linked to Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz after they played alongside each other at the US Open in 2025.

Both dismissed the rumours although Emma admitted she had a ‘genuine connection’ with the Spaniard, who she met early in her career.

Discussing their relationship last year, she said: ‘It is nice and I think, for all of us, we really value those connections that we had from when we were young.

‘Because when you become a bit more known or a bit more successful, you just find yourself reverting back to people you knew from a young age and because that’s a real genuine connection, because it becomes very busy and you have a lot more friends – but the ones that you’ve known for a long time mean a lot more to you.

‘I remember he beat Stef [Tsitsipas] in the third round and it was like a big win, his breakout win on a big stage and it was really cool to kind of go through that tournament together.

‘We have a good relationship still. He’s obviously overtaken me a lot, but it’s nice we have that from a while ago.’

Emma has also admitted some fans are more interested in her love life than her results on the court.

‘I guess it comes with the territory, people being so curious,’ she said. ‘ I think they’re more curious about this news than any tennis results and tennis news.

‘But I just keep to myself, my private life to one side. It’s always funny when people try to find something out, but I try not to read into it so much.’
