Ant Anstead suffered multiple injuries in a freak accident 😳 His message to fans? “Time to slow down.”

TV personality Ant Anstead, the ex-husband of HGTV star Christina Haack, is recovering after suffering multiple injuries in what he described as a “freak footy accident.”

Anstead, who appeared with Haack on several episodes of “Christina on the Coast” and on “The Flip Off” in early 2025, is a car expert known for series including “Wheeler Dealers,” “Celebrity IOU: Joyride,” and “The World’s Greatest Cars.”

He shared an update with fans on Instagram on November 1, posting a photo of himself wearing an arm sling and bandages. “October can officially go away,” he wrote. “Surgery now complete and I am forced to rest (which I don’t do well)…! So I’m taking it as a sign!”

Anstead revealed he sustained a detached pectoral muscle along with a torn rotator cuff and labrum. Despite the painful injuries, the British television host maintained his sense of humor, sipping coffee in the photo and reassuring fans that he’s focusing on recovery.

The Accident Sparked a New Health Wake-Up Call

The father of three admitted the injury came just as he was taking his health more seriously. “Three close and beloved friends received terrible diagnoses,” Anstead wrote. “It kickstarted me to look closer at my health, and I went down many rabbit holes…. Diet, peptides, body scans, vitamins, etc.”

He added that the experience was another reminder to prioritize self-care. “I am going back down the health rabbit hole as I’m in the age group where I need to take this stuff more seriously! And be healthier and kinder to my body,” he continued. “Any and all advice greatly appreciated.”

Co-Parenting Peace With Christina Haack

While recovering, Anstead continues to focus on family and co-parenting with ex-wife Christina Haack. Just weeks before his injury, he praised the “Flip Off” star for their teamwork in raising their 6-year-old son, Hudson.

“Teacher conference week… Hudzo is thriving! I’m gonna give us a pat on the back!” he wrote on Oct. 11. “We’re doing a great job with this little chap! Nice work mum x.”

Haack responded to the post with a heartfelt message: “Sweetest boy!!”

The former couple, who split in 2020, have made significant strides in rebuilding their relationship after a contentious custody dispute.

A Healing Relationship & New Chapter Ahead

In February, Haack opened up on her HGTV show “The Flip Off” about the moment that helped repair her relationship with Anstead following her split from Josh Hall earlier this year.

“After Josh and I split up, I went over to [Ant’s] house to pick Hudson up because I was taking him to a birthday party,” she recalled, as per People. “When I walked up to the door, he gave me a huge hug. We hadn’t hugged in years.”

Haack said the heartfelt gesture marked a turning point. “He just said, ‘I’m so sorry for everything you’re going through and I’m here for you no matter what you need,’” she shared. “It was a very nice moment. We decided to put all the BS aside and be good co-parents, like Tarek and I, for Hudson.”

Now, as Anstead recovers from his injuries, the HGTV star appears just as focused on emotional healing, embracing rest and family connection as he steps into a new chapter.
