When HGTV premieres its newest competition show, “Bachelor Mansion Takeover,” in 2026, fans will see “the good, the bad, and the ugly” as alums of ABC’s “The Bachelor” franchise attempt to revamp the famous mansion where contestants have stayed for two decades.

That’s according to Tyler Cameron, 32, who serves as a judge on the limited series and first rose to fame as runner-up on season 15 of “The Bachelorette” with Hannah Brown. On October 31, 2025, Cameron spilled the tea to Elite Daily about how things went during filming and admitted that not everyone nailed their design challenges.
Tyler Cameron Admits Some Contestants Didn’t ‘Really Succeed’ at Improving ‘The Bachelor’ Mansion
In mid-October, HGTV announced that “Bachelor Mansion Takeover” will be judged by Cameron and Tayshia Adams, star of “The Bachelorette” season 16, and hosted by ESPN correspondent Jesse Palmer, who was “The Bachelor” in 2004 and took over for Chris Hamilton as host of the franchise in 2022.
Executive produced by Michael Matsumoto, who’s helmed multiple seasons of “Fixer Upper” and “Battle on the Beach” on HGTV, the six-episode competition will feature 12 former contestants from “The Bachelor,” “The Bachelorette,” “The Golden Bachelor,” and “The Golden Bachelorette,” challenged to renovate the mansion in Agoura Hills, California, where contestants have stayed since the franchise began.
Cameron, a general contractor who starred in his own home renovation show in 2024 — Amazon Prime’s Emmy-nominated “At Home With Tyler Cameron” — told Elite Daily, “My dad was a builder, my mom was a Realtor, so I was always around it.”
Noting that “The Bachelor” mansion was definitely ready for a makeover, he said, “The home has been there for 20 years, and it hasn’t really been renovated or touched. It’s so cool to see all these competitors put their own spin on how they think it should look.”
But the hunky home renovator revealed that while some contestants excelled at revamping the “Bachelor” pad, others ran into trouble.
“Some really succeed, some don’t,” he told Elite Daily. “You’re going to see the good, the bad, the ugly, but it’s going to be a lot of fun to watch.”
Tyler Cameron Says He ‘Gelled’ Well With Tayshia Adams
What was a success was the pairing of Cameron and Adams as co-judges, he told Elite Daily.
“Tayshia’s been great,” he said. “We bounced off each other really well. This is my first time really getting to be around her, and we just gelled. She’s up for anything.”
Adams and Cameron will judge the renovations along with a surprise guest judge for each episode, as the contestants “swap roses for paintbrushes and cocktail attire for overalls in weekly elimination challenges,” the show’s official logline said. By the end of the competition, one franchise alum will win $100,000.
