A Fairytale Six Months for Isabel Hodgins
Emmerdale favourite Isabel Hodgins, who has portrayed Victoria Sugden since 2006, is celebrating six months of marriage to her husband Adam Whitehead—and the couple are also eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first baby.
The pair tied the knot earlier this year in a romantic Manchester ceremony surrounded by close family and friends. Isabel, 31, met Adam, 28, at a local gym. Despite attending the same school years apart, fate didn’t bring them together until adulthood, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

A Sweet Pregnancy Reveal
In August, Isabel announced her pregnancy in a heartwarming interview with OK! Magazine. The actress revealed that Adam was the one who discovered the news first.
“I took a test, threw it on the floor, and it was upside down!” she laughed. “Adam looked and saw it was positive, but I didn’t believe it at first. We rushed out to buy three more tests, and when they all came back positive, we knew it was real.”

A Relaxing Pre-Baby Getaway
Over the weekend, Isabel and Adam enjoyed a peaceful spa retreat at Carden Park in Cheshire to mark six months of marriage and 24 weeks of pregnancy.
Sharing a series of blissful photos on Instagram, Isabel wrote:
“Celebrating six months married and being 24 weeks pregnant. The dreamiest little pre-baby getaway. Lovely pamper with a pregnancy massage and facial followed by a delicious afternoon tea. Feeling so relaxed and grateful for such a special stay.”
Taking a Break from Emmerdale
With her baby’s arrival approaching, Isabel has confirmed she’ll take maternity leave from Emmerdale, a move she describes as “bittersweet.”
“I’ll miss it,” she admitted. “I’ve been there for 19 years, and I love the people. But I’ve done everything I’ve wanted to do. Now it’s time to focus on being a mum, and that feels right.”
Victoria Sugden’s Current Turmoil
On-screen, Victoria’s life is far less peaceful. The character continues to struggle with the shocking truth about her brother John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), whose deceit and violence left the Dales reeling. After discovering he murdered Nate and manipulated Aaron Dingle, Victoria is still trying to process the trauma and rebuild her life.
Off-screen, however, Isabel is glowing with happiness as she looks ahead to the next chapter—both as a wife and soon-to-be mum.
