With the season finale of HGTV’s “Holmes on Homes: Building a Legacy” set to air on November 4, 2025, the stars of the show say they’ll be back soon. On November 3, Mike Holmes Jr. shared details on social media about the last episode of the season, adding, “Don’t worry, more episodes to come in 2026!”

That’s big news after a tumultuous year that included multiple show cancellations and goodbyes from longtime personalities, including “Married to Real Estate” stars Egypt Sherrod and Mike Jackson, “Farmhouse Fixer” star Jonathan Knight, and “Bargain Block” stars Evan Thomas, Keith Bynum, and Shea Hicks Whitfield.

‘Holmes on Homes: Building a Legacy’ Was a Surprise Addition to HGTV Schedule

“Holmes on Homes: Building a Legacy” was a surprise addition to HGTV’s fall schedule. Mike Jr.’s dad, longtime HGTV star and beloved Canadian contractor Mike Holmes, announced on October 6 that the show would premiere the next night, on October 7.

The series stars him, his son Mike Jr., and his daughter, Sherry Holmes. He told his social media followers that the series, which had already aired in Canada, was “all about the future — sharing the knowledge I’ve gained over four decades with a new generation of skilled tradespeople — my own kids @sherryholmes @mikeholmesjr.”

In a preview video shared by HGTV on the morning of the premiere, Holmes and his grown kids were seen fixing and renovating homes while he explained, “I’ve loved construction my whole life. And the great thing is I’ve built a construction business to ‘make it right’ for hundreds of homeowners over the years.”

“I’ve taught my kids, Michael and Sherry, that each project is more than just a renovation,” he continued. “We’re a family helping other families. That’s what building a legacy means to me.”

Despite the promise they’ll return in 2026, some fans expressed dismay that “Holmes on Homes: Building a Legacy” was wrapping up after just five weeks.

One person wrote on Mike Jr.’s post, “No!!! I want more. Just kidding…I know it takes a lot to put this together but I need my Holmes fix! Can u ask the network to run a month long Holmes programming! From the earliest available shows when Mike jr was 15-16 yrs old, until now, so I can record ALL of them. Thank Holmes family for the entertainment, knowledge, and enjoyment you provide! ❤️”

The Holmes family returned to HGTV in the spring of 2025 after a two-year absence from the network. On June 4, they premiered the third season of “Holmes Family Rescue” with eight new episodes, in which they aimed to “make it right” — Mike’s trademark slogan — “for homeowners who have fallen victim to careless or dishonest contractors.”

The season finale of “Holmes on Homes: Building a Legacy” will air on November 4 at 9 p.m. Eastern time.
